Handling large pet snakes

Handling large snakes can be tricky for someone who has never done it before and it is important to know how to properly handle it to ensure both its safety and yours.

  • Have other people with you
  • Always be alert
  • Don’t take on more than you can handle
  • Have a first aid-kit
  • Remain calm if attacked
  • Fight for your life
  • Don’t let a large constrictor wrap itself around you. Ever
  • Don’t handle or approach after being around other animals

If you keep snakes for any length of time you will get attacked by one of them. If it’s just a little two or three footer no problem, but if it’s a larger snake there could easily be some huge problems up to and including death.
