The state of Montana’s regulations regarding wild animals, including snakes and other reptiles is found in the above link (Montana code 87-4-800). In short any person wishing to operate a wild animal menagerie must obtain a permit. Anyone who wishes to bring a snake into the state of Montana must purchase a one time entry fee and get an official health certificate.
