Advertising policies
We’ve received a few emails recently asking about advertising on pet-snakes.com so thought now would be a good time to create a governing policy. At this point we receive an average of 2200 visitors a month. Those number have been consistent for about 4 months now. Aside from Google Adsense we have made a decision NOT to monetize the site with advertisements UNTIL we start to average at least 5,000 unique visitors a month. The reason for this is that it would not be fair to take money without being able to provide the traffic to make it worth a person’s time to advertise here.

Comment policies
We allow visitors to openly comment on any articles that they wish to at Pet-Snakes.com as long as the comments follow the rules:

  • The comments are on topic
  • The comments are family friendly
  • The comments don’t violate the law
  • The comments are constructive for our readers

If for some reason your comment is removed please do not be offended. If you feel strongly about it don’t hesitate to contact us and we will review the comment and possibly reconsider our action.

As a final note regarding comments be advised that we consider any comments on this site to be usable by pet-snakes.com in future promotions, articles and any other way we see fit. Yes, this is meant to be a blanket statement.

Contact policies
Here at pet-snakes.com we want to extend a warm welcome to our visitors to communicate with us via our contact form or by sending an email directly to us. We will answer each legitimate communication we receive. Unfortunately there is simply no way for us to guarantee that we will answer within a certain time period. With that said however please be assured we will do our best not to take more than 72 hours (3 days) to reply.

Corrections policies
We at pet-snakes.com strive to be as accurate as possible with the information we offer on this site, but we are only human which means that we will make mistakes from time to time. If you see an error please feel free to send us an email with the url where you found the error and exactly what you believe is wrong. We will research the issue and if necessary amend the appropriate article(s).

Video and media policies
Pet-Snakes.com makes use of various media to enhance our visitors enjoyment of the site. One such example is the small YouTube video unit we run in the right sidebar. We look for meaningful YouTube content that is well done, educational, fun, and of course relevant to the topic of keeping snakes as pets. When we find those kinds of videos we embed them into this web page along with others and set them up to play randomly using a Word Press plugin called Video Widget.

If you do not want your YouTube videos being displayed here or elsewhere you will need to turn off the embed feature in your YouTube control panel. You do this under the broadcast options settings. By taking this step it will block the video from being displayed anywhere except on YouTube itself. The alternative method is to let us know and within a week we will remove the link to the video(s) you specify. Please provide the video ID which can be found by looking at the link to the video. In the link you’ll see =XXXXXXXXX where the X’s represent numbers and letters. We need everything after the equals sign.

Finally regarding YouTube and video embedding please keep in mind that embedding you videos only helps you out by providing a link to your profile on YouTube so people can watch more of what you have to offer. It is really a win/win situation as you provide us with some content and we provide you with some traffic.
