- Appearance
- Shiny black, smooth scaled snake with a chain-like white or yellow patterns. Small head that is hard to distinguish from the neck. Belly is a bluish gray with yellowish or white squares.
- Range
- Black kingsnakes can be found in southern Ohio, western West Virginia, southeastern Illinois, northeastern Mississippi, northern Alabama, and northwestern Georgia
- Feeding Habits
- Like all kingsnakes species the Black Kingsnake is an opportunistic eater and will feed on anything it can subdue and fit in its mouth. This includes other snakes. If you keep any species of kingsnake as a pet you should never keep it with any other snakes.
