About the snake
The prize is a voucher for a Ball Python worth up to $400.00 from BHB Reptiles. Brian Barczyk, owner of BHB Reptiles, has kindly agreed to co-sponsor this contest. Brian does a weekly video cast called Snake Bytes that everyone should check out whether you enter this contest or not.

General Rules

  • Must be 18 years of age or older OR have a parent/legal guardians permission
  • You are responsible for providing adequate housing for the snake and all costs associated with it
  • You are responsible for feeding the snake and all costs associated with it
  • You must live in the United States as we will not ship this animal overseas
  • Please only one entry per person
  • Winning entry will be chosen giving each email entry a number, starting in chronological order from 0 to X and then using Random.org to select one winner
  • Contest end August 15, 2009 at 5:00 PM (EST) and winner will be announced by 5:00 PM (EST) August 16, 2009

    I teach science at a public school Brooklyn and I love snakes. I currently have a california banded king snake and a freezer full of mice. My brother-in-law is a herpetologist teaching at Northridge, so I have great line on advice on how to care and raise snakes. Plus, I have proper enclosures, bedding and the rest of the items I need to care for a snake and am well aware of the long term commitment it takes to raise them properly. The last book I read was the Snake Charmer, the biography of the late Dr. Joe Slowinski.
